Trips on the Fashion Management course have been arranged over the course of the 4-years to provide opportunities for the students and enable them to gain valuable international insight into the industry. Through visiting various trade shows and immersing themselves in new experiences and cultures, the Fashion Management students have embraced each and every second.
In year one, students were flown to Italy to visit the Pitti Filati international trade show, where key textile and knitwear trends are launched and viewed by industry professionals. This was an interesting and useful insight into what happens within the industry. Additionally, one of the first year modules was product technology based, meaning, the industry knowledge gained while at the Pitti Falati event could be applied to the module assignments.
Second year gave the Fashion Management students the opportunity to visit the Big Apple. As one of the most fast paced and exciting cities in the world, the Fashion Management students stayed in the heart of Manhattan. Spending their days sightseeing, this experience exposed the students to the American dream.
London This trip included a visit to Fashion – Enter, which is an ASOS factory, therefore giving students the chance to see a different perspective of fashion by participating in the workshop. Students were also granted entry to the ASOS head office for a presentation and Q&A session, which provided insight regarding future employment opportunities that the brand currently have on offer. The trip also included a visit to Pure, a well-known international trade fair in London where students were presented with the latest trends, styles and colours of the upcoming fashion season.
